What is SMG?

It is the short form for The Stock Market Game, a program developed by SIFMA Foundation to connect students to the global economy with virtual investing and real-world learning. Its core offering is a simulation of the global capital markets that engages students in grades 4-12 in the world of economics, investing, and personal finance and that has prepared nearly 20 million students for financially independent futures since 1977.

Why is Financial Literacy a Must for Young Adolescents?

"Financial literacy is a core life skill for participating in modern society. Children are growing up in an increasingly complex world where they will eventually need to take charge of their own financial future. "

Acquiring and internalizing financial knowledge and developing good habits is a long process. For many, it even involves making mistakes. Starting early gives them ample time to learn, practice, and embrace financial literacy as a part of their personal growth.
